Ronald J. DeBellis, PharmD, FCCP, has dedicated his academic career to improving health professional education and training the next generation of health care professionals. Dr. DeBellis is passionate about raising awareness about diagnosing and where applicable treating rare disease patients. In addition to holding a doctor of pharmacy degree from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, he completed a postgraduate pharmacy practice residency with an emphasis on critical care medicine from Pacific Presbyterian (California Pacific) Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He holds a fellowship in the American College of Chest Physicians earned though nearly 2 decades of clinical practice in a medical intensive care practice setting. He remains in education as a full professor of Clinical Sciences at Keck Graduate Institute School of Pharmacy. His current practice setting is as scientific adviser at National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), where he continues to teach and develop educational opportunities in the rare disease space for various health care professionals. Dr. DeBellis lectures nationally, serves on a variety of both medical and advocacy advisory boards in the rare disease space, in addition to developing and curating relationships that serve NORD?s mission. In addition to his PharmD, postgraduate residency, and fellowship, Dr. DeBellis earned a BS in social and health resources from the University of Nevada-Reno.
