The 6th Annual NASP Annual Meeting and Educational Conference will provide comprehensive information regarding all aspects of specialty pharmacy, including the evolution of the market, impact of specialty pharmacy on patients, and national legislative and regulatory policy. The meeting will also include a Specialty Pharmacy Law Conference offering CE and CLE credits to attendees; a one-day CSP Prep Course for pharmacists studying for October examinations given by the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board for Certified Specialty Pharmacist certification; and new to this year’s meeting, a Home Infusion Pre-conference Workshop given by subject matter experts from the National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) offering CE credits to attendees.
The final CSP examination in 2018 will be offered in October and applications will be due by September 15, 2018.
The National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP) has teamed up with ProCE to bring you the Center for Specialty Pharmacy Education (CSPE), the official continuing education website for NASP. Most CSPE activities cover the clinical therapeutics of various disease states in which specialty pharmacy products and services are provided. However, CSPE also covers legal, regulatory and operational topics relevant to specialty pharmacy practice.
Specialty pharmacy is the fastest growing segment of pharmacy practice today and will continue for the foreseeable future. Specialty pharmacy impacts only a small percent of the population; however, the diseases and drug therapies are very complex and require a higher level of knowledge compared to more traditional diseases and drug therapies. The Certified Specialty Pharmacist Credential is designed to validate your professional expertise, elevate the status of the specialty pharmacy profession, differentiate yourself in a competitive job market, position yourself for handling limited or exclusively distributed drugs, position yourself to better serve payer requirements, and protect the public by improving health outcomes and reducing medication errors.
The CSP Exam Preparatory Course will cover topics related to intake, clinical management, fulfillment, and outcomes that might be expected on the exam. Join expert faculty as key aspects of specialty pharmacy and the specialty pharmacist's role are discussed. Key topics include the fundamentals of the patient intake process, as well as fulfillment workflows and commonly used tools to monitor quality of life, persistence and adherence. The disease state specific sections will cover specialty drug classes, indications, dosing, common side effects and drug interactions, and more. In addition, there will be an opportunity to pose questions to a panel of pharmacists who have taken and passed the exam.
