    This unique, 1-day conference is intended for general counsel and in-house counsel for national and regional specialty pharmacies, practicing attorneys in health care law, compliance officers, and other health care executives concerned with the legal and regulatory requirements and extraordinary complexities of owning and operating a specialty pharmacy. We are pleased to welcome Michael R. Hess, JD, lead, Specialty Pharmacy & Pharmaceuticals Practice Group, Bass Berry & Sims as this year's conference chair.

    The theme of this year's conference is "Managing Relationships: The Legal Considerations, Requirements and Implications of Building and Operating a Specialty Pharmacy."

    Each session will be presented by a panel of legal health care experts which will offer a comprehensive and cohesive view of the specialty pharmacy relationships with payers, referral sources, pharmacy employees, pharma, regulatory agencies, and investor.

Other covered topics are any willing pharmacy issues; contract negotiations and network termination; fraud, waste, and abuse; Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act compliance; the opioid epidemic; government investigation trends; general health care fraud statute and federal and state guidance; the importance of a compliance program; and the requirements and factors to consider when building a saleable pharmacy pretransaction and post transaction.

    This program will offer continuing legal education credit and pharmacist continuing education credit
